Well we had no option but to get this namesake coffee! But obviously a coffee needs to have more than just a familiar name and fortunately when we cupped it we loved it. It has all the characteristics of a classic Huehue coffee -creamy, balanced and fruity in a mellow way. It come’s from Samuel’s farm El Matasano way up over 2000 metres above sea level. He grows mostly bourbon and caturra varietals but experiments with different hybrids such as catimor and maragoype which adds complexity to his offerings. This coffee is very well processed and you really taste it in the sweetness.
There is a level of complexity which we are happily exploring with this coffee through different brew methods. We love it as black espresso or with milk and also as a filter. We encourage you to brew as your favourite method and let us know how you go!
