This coffee comes from 8 small growers around the town of Aponte in North West Nariño. This is an incredibly remote village tucked deep in the Juanambú canyon surrounded by steep rugged mountains. At a high altitude, this is a cool climate with very windy conditions year round. Soil is fertile courtesy of the constant ash spread from nearby Galeras Volcano. It is precisely this spectacular and rugged setting which creates the perfect growing conditions for amazing Café de Colombia!

According to Barrio folklore, coffees from Nariño are the BOMB. This is no exception in fact this coffee is a stellar exempler of what we love about coffees from those steep southern Colombian montañas. Clean. Floral. Rich. Unique. This is honey processed which adds an element of ripe fruitiness and jammyness which heightens the whole cup. Honey process means that coffee cherries are picked then pulped, removing the top layer of fruit before being dried in the second layer of mucilage to allow fermentation to take place. This all takes place on individual producer’s farms before being dried and delivered to the Pergamino warehouse to be cupped for quality and sorted.

This is an all-rounder so we would recommend just drinking it by any brew method and savouring this special coffee.
