Hadeso is a privately owned washing station in Shakisso Woreda, Guji. Many local farmers contributed to this lot, most of whom grow coffee on tiny parcels of land alongside other crops such as bananas and corn. Farms sit very high in this area often over 2000 metres above sea level. This means slow growth of the cherries which characterises Ethiopian coffees. In short - High Altitude equals dense and complex coffees.
We celebrate the arrival of fresh Ethiopian coffees every year. They really represent the depth and complexity of the coffee fruit in its most pure and original form. These are the descendants of old old coffee trees still growing where they have for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Ethiopian coffee has something special about it. We especially enjoy them as black filter and espresso coffee.
